High School students in the Birmingham and Tuscaloosa areas participated in the CollegeFirst Advanced Placement Summer Institute over the course of three weeks this June. The institute was held on campus at UAB and The University of Alabama with local college students, as well as university faculty and staff, serving to help Impact Alabama AmeriCorps members with the implementation and teaching of content. Over 130 high school students across central Alabama participated in the Institute and took part in lectures, laboratory experiments, and other exercises and activities to help them succeed in AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Calculus, and AP English Language courses this fall.
