Nancy Farag was born in New Jersey but grew up in South Carolina, which she considers her home. She graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelors in public relations and a minor in Islamic world studies. She was very involved in the on-campus ministry, Shandon College Ministry, where she served in many leadership roles, including president her senior year. After Impact, she is considering pursuing seminary at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

What was your most meaningful service experience or extracurricular activity in college and why?

I am an event facilitator for an organization called Compassion International and have been able to travel the country and go to events representing Compassion. Compassion International is a nonprofit sponsorship organization that releases millions of children from poverty all over the world in Jesus’ name.

Name and describe a memorable place you’ve been.

In February 2017, I got to go to San Salvador, El Salvador and see the work of Compassion first hand. I’ve been apart of Compassion and have been sponsoring a girl since 2014 but being able to see the work and meet all the people was life changing.
