Born in Jacksonville, FL, Stephanie Strickland is a lifetime resident of North Florida. She received her bachelor’s degree in Italian & Spanish from Florida State University where she had minors in environmental science & policy management and Portuguese. Stephanie’s study abroad experience and extracurricular activities with the Environmental Service Program left the biggest impressions on her. Her time as an AmeriCorps VISTA member was particularly rewarding and lead her to stay on as staff.

What do you wish you could have studied more in school?
I wish that I had studied more history. I always thought that I didn’t like history growing up but in college, many of my most memorable classes were history classes. With my strong love of geography and linguistics, history would have been a really good way to root my interests.
