DeJa graduated summa cum laude from Alabama State University in 2017. She earned her B.A. in political science with a minor in history. As an undergraduate DeJa served as President of ASU’s Model United Nations club and Vice President of the W.E.B. Dubois Honors Program. To earn her Honors degree, she conducted research and wrote a capstone paper about the voting habits of 18-24 year old college students in Alabama. After serving with Impact, she hopes to start her own non-profit organization that seeks to help young girls in underserved communities.

What is your biggest strength?

My biggest strength is my persistence. I work hard toward my goals and always find a way to reach them.

What do you like to do for fun?

I like to watch Youtube videos and journal for fun.

What is your most meaningful service experience and why?

My most meaningful community service experience in college was when I participated in an Alternative Spring Break with United Way in Gulfport, Mississippi. I learned about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and participated in beautification projects across the Gulf Coast.
