What was your most meaningful service experience or extracurricular activity in college and why?
During my junior year, I took a class called “Anthropology is Elemental.” This class went to a local elementary school to teach an anthropology class to third graders. I had never heard of anthropology until I got to college, so this was a cool opportunity to teach kids about something they have never heard of before. Through this opportunity, I learned how to effectively communicate with eight-year-olds, gained a greater appreciation for elementary school teachers, and was reminded of how weird third graders are.

Name and describe a memorable place you’ve been.
The summer before my senior year of college, I studied abroad in Oxford, England, for a month. I had internationally traveled before, but never for that long. It was fascinating to become entrenched in another culture, especially in a city that values education so much.

What do you like to do for fun?
I like to read, watch basketball, take walks, and travel. I’ve never done all four at once and never plan to.
