Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Mar Mata graduated summa cum laude from The University of Memphis, where they majored in Psychology with minors in Spanish and Sociology. As an undergraduate, Mar participated in the Honors Student Organization, Tiger Leadership Institute, and tutored multiple elementary and middle school students. After serving with Impact America, Mar hopes to get their master’s in Sociology.
What do you like to do for fun?
In my free time, I like to go to concerts in Nashville with my friends and to crochet.
Who is someone you admire and why?
My dad is someone I admire the most in my life because he has gone through so much and always keeps a positive outlook on life and always encourages me in everything I do.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
One of my most proud moments was being able to graduate college a year early and seeing how happy everyone was for me that day.
