Yes! At this time, we are planning for a full service year in 2020-2021 and are hiring accordingly.

How will my experience on the 2020-2021 team be impacted by COVID-19?

At this time, we are planning for a virtual orientation and general adherence to social distancing guidelines. This may include less time in the office, limited travel, and using PPE during service.

I have already been accepted to the program for the 2020-2021 service year. Is my position in jeopardy?

Nope! We do not plan on rescinding any offers.

I have accepted a position and am moving for my service year. Since I cannot travel right now, can someone help me find a place to live?

SpeakFirst

What does SpeakFirst look like this school year?

We began virtual practice back in August and are continuing to meet virtually for the time being. Students are also competing in virtual debate tournaments. We plan to participate in six tournaments during the Fall semester.
What’s the due date for applications? 
We have completed our first round of applications and interviews for the 2020-2021 season but are continuing to accept applications through Friday, November 20, 2020. Students who are interested should read all of the information in the application and either mail their application in or complete the electronic form. ((link in the application form – see attached).

Where can I get my taxes done?
Tax season ended July 15, 2020. We are currently preparing for the 2021 tax season and will provide more information as it is available.I have questions about the stimulus check payment. Do I have to file a return in order to get a check?
The first set of guidelines has been released by the IRS. As always, you should check https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus for the most accurate and up-to-date information. 

Will you be preparing taxes in 2021?
Yes, we are currently preparing for tax season. Tax preparation will begin mid-January. Due to COVID-19, we are offering drop-off service (a quick, low-contact appointment) or virtual service this year to keep our communities safe and healthy. Information will be available at www.impactamerica.com/freetaxprep as details are available.

FocusFirst

Are you still conducting vision screenings?
At this time, FocusFirst is scheduling vision screenings. We will have limited screening availability after Thanksgiving until the middle of March, as our team takes part in our SaveFirst tax preparation program.  We are working with centers to schedule appointments keeping in mind social distancing and CDC COVID-19 safety guidelines.

What safety precautions is FocusFirst taking to perform vision screenings?

Are children referred still receiving follow up care?
Our partner, Sight Savers America is continuing to provide individual case-managed follow-up services to those we have referred.
