About the Campus Fellowship:

SaveFirst Campus Fellows are outstanding returning SaveFirst volunteers who commit to providing experience and leadership at the tax sites.

The SaveFirst Campus Fellows are critical to our ability to provide high-quality service and to meet the increasing demand for these services each year. The fellowship is an incredible opportunity for you to provide an important service to families in the Tallahassee area and to develop important professional skills you will take with you to future endeavors.

Requirements include:

  • Attend a short refresher session in the fall and an eight-hour training session in January to learn advanced tax law concepts
  • Assist with basic volunteer trainings in January
  • Obtain Advanced IRS VITA certification as a volunteer tax preparer
  • Serve eight hours weekly and 3 Saturdays (one sponsored trip to Dothan for Tallahassee Fellows) during tax season from mid-January through mid-March and 10 hours from mid-March to mid-April **Alternative schedules also available
  • Assist with administrative responsibilities at the tax site
  • Provide leadership to the other student volunteers and support to the Site Coordinators

Applicants will be accepted on a rolling admission basis beginning in May. The extended priority application deadline is Friday, July 7, 2017.
