Impact America – Tennessee Program Manager

Summary: The Program Manager provides support to the daily operations of Impact America – Tennessee, with special focus given to program administration, organization, and implementation; and supervises and supports the AmeriCorps members to ensure a high-quality service experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation of FocusFirst as follows:
    • Receive training on SPOT camera and conduct screenings in local area when necessary
    • Support FocusFirst Coordinator by assisting with scheduling and data compilation
    • Supervise FocusFirst processing to ensure high quality
  • Support implementation of SaveFirst as follows:
    • Collaborate with Regional Director in monitoring master task lists and calendars to ensure all SaveFirst activities are completed in a timely manner
    • Prepare Corps Members to conduct recruitment visits, tax trainings, and outreach activities
    • Obtain Advanced Level IRS certification for volunteer tax preparers
    • Supervise Corps Members at tax sites and conduct quality reviews of tax returns prepared by Corps Members and students (includes working on Saturdays in January, February, and the first week of March)
  • Support AmeriCorps grant management as follows:
    • Assist in compiling member files
    • Reviewing and approving timesheets
    • Organizing physical files, including timesheets, volunteer documentation, and program performance documentation
  • Assist Regional Director in supervising Corps Members and conducting performance reviews
  • Prepare and disseminate weekly schedule for Corps Members
  • Review, approve, and organize receipts and accounting forms turned in by Corps members
  • Review and approve mileage reimbursements
  • Miscellaneous tasks to support the day-to-day operation of the AmeriCorps program and the FocusFirst and SaveFirst initiatives

Reports to: Memphis Regional Director

Expectations

  • Positive attitude and rapport with Corps Members
  • Adherence to assigned deadlines for projects and attention to detail
  • Flexibility in a dynamic service environment
  • Work from a designated office space in Memphis from 8:00am to 5:00pm, unless attending meetings out in the community
  • Take initiative to look ahead in calendar to see what tasks are upcoming on the calendar and bring ideas and plans for accomplishing tasks to scheduled meetings
  • Overtime as necessary during January and February if needed to complete program tasks (additional vacation days will be provided to you to be used at other times throughout the year to help compensate for the necessary overtime)
